eCapital Commercial Finance UK has announced it is raising its funding capacity to support deal sizes of up to £10 million, available to new and existing clients with immediate effect. The move gives mid-market businesses seeking growth capital access to the fast, flexible funding solutions and high-touch service that have defined eCapital’s reputation in the UK market.
The move comes at a time when access to finance remains a barrier for growing UK businesses. Fewer than half of SME loan applications currently succeed, and confidence in securing finance from mainstream lenders has declined* – a gap eCapital is positioning itself to close for the mid-market businesses that have historically sat just outside its typical funding range. For mid-market firms, the expansion means access to funding solutions structured around how they actually operate – faster decisions, more flexible terms, and a relationship-led service that has underpinned eCapital’s growth to date, now available at a higher funding ceiling. Businesses whose funding requirements had outgrown their existing funder, but underserved by the rigid processes of mainstream banks, now have a clear route to the capital they need to grow.
Importantly, this is a deliberate broadening of reach rather than a shift in strategy. eCapital’s core focus remains firmly on the small and mid-sized businesses it has built its name serving: 60% of its client base holds facilities up to £500,000, and that focus is not changing.
The expanded funding ceiling is the latest step in eCapital’s broader growth strategy, which has also seen recent investment in its leadership team to ensure the business is set up to meet rising demand for its solutions. This includes the appointment of John Nelson as Managing Director, UK, to lead the UK business as it scales its offering and client base, alongside Camillia Woodrow as Head of HR, tasked with driving the company’s people strategy.
John Nelson, Managing Director of eCapital Commercial Finance UK, said: “We can no longer deny the opportunity for larger clients to work with us and enjoy our market-leading service. This isn’t about becoming a different kind of funder – it’s about doing what we already do well and reaching a little further. Our commitment to the smaller and mid-sized businesses that make up the majority of our client base is unchanged. What’s changing is that we’re now able to say yes to bigger ambitions too, and support them with the same speed, flexibility and service our clients have always relied on.”The increased funding ceiling is available to new and existing clients with immediate effect. Mid-market businesses seeking facilities up to £10 million are encouraged to contact eCapital Commercial Finance UK to discuss their requirements.
